Professional features in rack format
When does a mixing desk become a real console? How large does it have
to be to allow professional operation? These questions designate a real
challenge to us. How about 20 channels (including aux returns), 3-band
EQ's with semi-parametric mids in the microphone channels, 4-band EQ in
the stereo channels and two aux paths, one of them pre/post switchable
per channel? Peak, mute and solo LED's, ALT 3-4 bus with faders and...
All this in a compact unit that fits anywhere – in project and MIDI
studios, for live mixes in clubs, in video post-production studios and
permanent installations. Wherever you want to mix, the EURORACK MX2004A
can do the job. It's extremely affordable yet features the same quality
that's made BEHRINGER consoles so popular. The MX2004A uses many of the
same components as the award-winning MX9000. The time when size was an
indication of quality is gone for good. Here you get more mixer than you
ever would have dared to expect in such a small box. Eight mono channels,
four stereo channels and two stereo aux returns – adds up to 20 inputs
that you can use as needed.
The MX2004A is delivered with a complete rack-mounting kit. You decide
whether to set it on a desk or mount it in a 19" rack. For additional
flexibility, the ALT 3-4 bus enables you to easily route various channels
to your recorder. In addition, you can create a separate mix of selected
channels and route it to the main mix via the control room/phones matrix
or to a stereo input. The possibilities are breath-taking, but the audio
quality is what we're proudest of. The most important factor in recording
is pure, transparent, noise-free sound. The MX2004A delivers the same
high-quality sound as the already legendary EURODESK MX9000. This is due
to our exclusive ULN (Ultra-Low Noise) circuitry and the massive headroom
of our summing amplifiers. The generously proportioned external power
supply – standard for all BEHRINGER consoles – also plays an
important role here. With the MX2004A you can rest assured that you're
equipped to master any situation – live or in your project studio.
Mackie SR-408
The SR40•8 is a extra large-format, center-master-section sound reinforcement console in a 40x8x3 configuration. It features 4 extra stereo Aux Return strips, 8 Subgroups, and Left, Right and Center main outputs. From elaborate EQ and routing flexibility to automated group muting, this no-compromise console is loaded with useful features. The built-in 12x4 matrix mixer provides access to any combination of the 8 subgroups, as well as the main Left, Right and Center channels, and an external input.
Mackie Designs has always remained fixed on three goals above all others: extremely high sonic quality, legendary reliability, and the best possible price/performance value. If you've ever used one of our smaller mixers, such as the CR1604-VLZ®, MS1202-VLZ®, or an 8•Bus console, you know that we've made good on those promises.
This large-format SR console has one key difference from it's predecessors. It is the first Mackie console not limited by space considerations. We added everything that we've always had to leave out of smaller mixers: phantom power switches on every channel, center channel gizmos galore, dimmer controls for lamps and integrated meter bridge, power supply status LEDs, talkback assignment matrix, separate AFL/PFL switches for inputs and outputs, tunable low-cut filters, main L-R fader link, separate L-R solo buttons... you get the idea. In spite of adding a wealth of useful details, the SR40•8 is still remarkably conservative in terms of size when compared to other comparable boards.
12x4 Matrix Mixer
The SR40•8 features a 12x4 matrix, with 12 possible sources that can be mixed together into one of four outputs. That means four independent outputs (or mixes), each with its own master level control, mute and solo buttons, and LEDs. Each matrix output provides a level control for the Left, Right and Center buses, as well as the 8 subgroups. An External input without level control is also available on the rear panel. Imagine the flexibility: set up different stage monitor mixes, create unique mixes for different zones or for delayed and main speaker systems. Or create separate feeds for live broadcast and taping.
The SR40•8 marks Mackie's debut into the large-format arena. We've stepped up to the plate with what we believe is the best value ever in big sound reinforcement consoles.
